![]() ![]() There really isn't much of a difference at all, much less than you would believe.įrom someone who has used Lexicons, TC4000s, Eventides etc in studios. I admit, I haven't heard the Lexicon plugin, but it would have to be *unbelievable* for me to reconsider. There's a big argument anyway that any software reverb can sound as good as hardware (which I agree is true, but it is really close now), so if you were going to drop $1800 on a plugin, you might as well seek out a hardware reverb such as a Lexicon PCM 92 or Eventide Eclipse (which also features some gorgeous chorus/flanging and other mod FX and you can chain 2 FX together) both of which sell for around the $1800 mark. The Lexicon 300 and Bricasti M7 (a near $4000 hardware reverb) Impulses were free and they are magnificent. I worked in recording studios for nearly 7 years with Lexicon reverbs, mostly 480Ls and while they were the shiz back in the day, I've seen quite a few on the market sell for less then 500 bucks (元00, which I think has more character than a 480). I have Lexicon 480 and 300 impulses from Acousticas (and Bricasti M7 impulses) and they sound about 90-95% of what a real lexicon hardware device does IMHO, they sound FANTASTIC for the money (total spend <$120 including Reverberate AND the Impulses). ![]() ![]() Get a cheap convolution reverb such as Reverberate and load in Lexicon Impulses. ![]()
